Work? Office? Deadlines? Experiencing all these in hand for the first time

Wall of Recognition

For the first time, I was ready to work,

It was a mixture of feelings from the start till the end,
It was a very large organization and I was asked to play a small role. I was told by my seniors that, the last time I saw you, you were a kid and now you’re uploading status saying “Work Place”. That’s when things struck hard and made me realise that I have been assigned with tasks and responsibilities and I am answerable to my superior when they’re not finished “on time”.
A completely different atmosphere, totally different work culture that we see/ follow in this era. Every individual was older and they were all married and they have been with the organisation for more than 10+ years. A very few people were young, but they weren’t of my age but they already had a few years of experience and they were working for the organisation.
I was recruited as an intern to work for the Human Resource (HR) department. In general, HR has various major activities to perform such as staffing, development, compensation, safety and health and so on… and I was expecting they would assign me to work related to one of those but eventually the project which they assigned to me was completely different from what I thought.

Their organisation needed Wall of Recognition for the employees working and they had various categories of awards and wanted all those awards to be portraited on the wall. So, I was given the responsibility of coming up with different ideas for the wall, and to make it look enticing. The whole idea behind this task is that it would boost the morale of the employees working for the organisation.
One of the major challenges that I faced during this project was ‘rejection’.
Rejections kept coming over and over and again that I had to work better and refine the ideas towards the liking of the organisation. All these rejections helped me more positively. At a point, I realised that I was able to explore more and learn about the tools that I have never come across. After which there were few ideas which were accepted by my superior and he asked me to implement them. That’s when I started getting down the field and buying materials for the concept to be put into reality. Initially, they had a thought within them that this cannot be implemented within a month but they were amazed by the work that I was putting in and I felt proud that something is coming up well.

By the time I could completely put it on the wall and inaugurate it along with my superiors my internship period was getting over. And they told me that once it is on the wall, this organisation will always remember the work that I had contributed to them.
Since I am generally passionate about knowing things and learning more I would have stayed with the organisation for a longer period and learnt even more from the human resource department and explored the various opportunities available, since time was the only constrain, I had to leave the organisation and settle for what I acquired over time.
